Skiddaw via Ullock Pike and Longside Edge
One not to be missed when staying at Ravenstone, Skiddaw is the 4th highest mountain in England and has spectacular views across Keswick, Bassenthwaite Lake & Derwent Water.
Just to the right of the driveway entrance to Ravenstone Manor you will see a path that heads up through the woods. Once you reach the main farm track you need to bear left and follow the path as it curves round to the right, so that you reach the base of Ullock Pike.
From here you have a steep climb up to the peak of Ullock Pike, then follow the ridge along to Longside Edge and Carl Side From here you will see a steep slate path to the summit of Skiddaw.
Once you’ve taken plenty of pictures and had a well-earned break you can head down Broad End and make your way back to Ravenstone.
